2024 Sustainability Update
For us, sustainability is more than just a buzzword, it's a mindset that shapes everything we do. While we know we won't save the world alone, we strive to choose paths with the least impact. Here's an update on our progress, results, and a reminder to ourselves and our team to stay focused on our core values.
Where Sustainability Meets Practicality
Every new product or style begins with a search for the most sustainable options, balancing performance, durability, and price to make thoughtful, impactful choices.
Fabrics
In 2024, 95% of our main styles—jerseys, LS jerseys, bottoms, jackets/gilets, and baselayers—featured at least one fabric made from recycled yarns, natural fibers like Merino wool and lyocell, or biodegradable yarns. While we recognize that recycled fabrics are only a slightly better alternative to virgin fibers, this progress forms a strong base for us to grow from. We're committed to exploring new ways to create products entirely from recycled, biodegradable, or natural materials.
Trims and accessories
In 2024, we made significant strides in this area. Except for two styles using leftover zippers, all others featured mechanically recycled zippers. Most of our styles now incorporate elastic tapes made from recycled polyamide. Additionally, all our bottoms continue to use top-sheet bio foam and recycled face fabric in every pad.
Manufacturing Process
In 2024, 87% of our products were made in Europe, with the remaining 13% produced in other parts of the world. Our selection of manufacturing partners is driven by a simple philosophy: we prioritize proximity, transparent and reliable processes, and the highest quality.
Slovakia (26%), Moldova (18%), Lithuania (17%), Romania (12%), Tunisia (9%), Croatia (8%), Italy (5%), USA (3%), Bosnia and Herzegovina (1%), Bangladesh (1%)
DWR
In 2024, we completed the transition of all our outer layers to C0 DWR. Starting with our Spring/Summer 2025 collection, all jackets, gilets, and bottoms with water-repellent treatment will feature fluorine-free C0 DWR, ensuring a more sustainable approach to performance.
Traceability
A few years ago, we began updating and publishing traceability data for all our products, and we've remained committed to this practice every season. We share only what we know and can confidently verify. Explore the details here: In the Footsteps of Production Processes.
Packaging
We take pride in the fact that none of our garments have ever been packed in plastic bags. Over time, we’ve evolved from using recycled and recyclable paper boxes for jerseys, bibs, and jackets to even more sophisticated, low-impact packaging solutions. Today, we use biodegradable bags, recycled cardboard boxes, and eco-friendly mailers for shipping. We also ensure that all hang tags are made from recycled paper, and, except for socks, we no longer use plastic splints to attach them.
Custom program
In 2024, we introduced three custom clothing lines for our made-to-order program, all featuring fabrics with recycled fiber content. In 2025, we will expand the range to include skin suits, set to arrive later in the season. We are also enhancing our custom clothing styles with mechanically recycled zippers and recycled polyester elastic tapes across all styles, further elevating our commitment to sustainability.
Future
We remain committed to using recycled, natural, or biodegradable materials wherever possible, ensuring that each new design makes a positive impact.
We see further potential for improvement in accessories, with a focus on increasing the use of recycled materials.
Our dedication to working with EU garment and fabric manufacturers continues, even if it means higher production costs.
We will keep improving our repair program, having saved 178 garments in 2024 through this initiative.
Our recycled clothing collection at the Cycling Community Hub in Bratislava continues to grow. In 2025, we will hand over this bulk of disposed garments to a processor, ensuring they avoid the landfill.
