A photo essay of cycling essentials by Isadore

Exploration is an essential component of why we like to ride. That desire to discover something new and to learn about a country with an exotic reputation drove us to test our Essentials Collection in Morocco. Riding the roads and trails in the Atlas Mountains exposed us not only to a different way of life but reconfirmed our belief in the generosity of the human spirit.

The beauty of the country, the hospitality of the people, and the richness of the culture meant that around every bend and over every hill we were rewarded with a wonderful new surprise.

And these most recent additions to our Essentials Collection like our Signature, Woolight and Gravel Jerseys fulfil the needs of cyclists who are open to adventure. The Essentials Collection incorporates only those features that will be fundamental to the performance of the product. Material that breathes and protects; zippers that slide smoothly without slippage; arms that stay in place; a classy color palette. Every feature with a purpose.

Chapter 1

Moroccan Cuisine

You can tell from its foods that Morocco has been a cultural crossroads for thousands of years. With Arabic, Berber, and Mediterranean influences among others, Moroccan food has a soulful flavor all its own.

With spices that echo its importance on the trading routes, and emphasis on local meats, seafood as well as legumes and vegetables, Moroccan cuisine will appeal to all cyclists hungry after a hard day in the saddle.

The famous Berber tagine omelette became a welcome staple in our time there, made with delicious eggs, tomatoes, paprika, and spiced with turmeric and coriander.

Chapter 2

Atlas views from sea to desert

Once you lift your eyes from your power meter and begin to take in the sights and smells around you, that’s when the experience of the ride will begin to fulfil that feeling of adventure.

Whether on quiet gravel trails or circuitous mountain roads, Moroccan views always offer generous returns on the rider’s investment.

Chapter 3

People as warm as the Moroccan sun

When a cyclist in full lycra appears in a village more accustomed to seeing donkeys as transport, inevitably you’ll get some looks. But the warmth of the smiles quickly made us feel welcomed.

The markets, the ancient Moorish towns, the children running alongside us in the streets, made every stop an adventure.
