Sustainability Report 2020

For a healthy planet to ride on

When we started Isadore, it was with the primary goal of finding the most sustainable solutions for our production and manufacturing. We did this before it was cool, when it was a lot harder to find environmentally friendly options, because we believed it was the right thing to do.

We are happy to see more brands joining the movement toward sustainability and fighting the good fight. It’s not easy, but it’s necessary. Here we’d like to share with you what our progress is, what we have achieved and what we have set for future goals.

Recognizing our social responsibility towards the environment and our community

Our 2021 accomplishments and beyond

Traceability

It’s one thing to say we are doing everything as eco-friendly as possible, but how do we know that? It means we have to be active in tracing our complete supply chain: from knowing where the raw materials we use come from, right through to knowing that the workers in the factories are earning a living wage and working in healthy conditions.

Degradable Mailers

Our goal is to move to fully degradable multi use mailers and recycled paper packaging for our parcel shipments. At the moment we use recycled paper packaging and partially degradable mailers for our orders.

Recycled Polyester in our Merino wool fabrics blend

With our mill producing Merino wool fabric blends, (mix of Merino wool + Polyester and Elastane) we have made it a mission to create proprietary fabric developed for us in order to replace virgin polyester with a recycled version.

All synthetic materials to be made from recycled sources by 2025

Ultimately, we want to be able to replace all virgin synthetic materials in our products with their recycled counterparts by 2025. Considering the progress made by our material suppliers we think it's possible. We will continue to add fabrics made from renewable sources as we go.

All our transportation shipping CO2 Neutral

We want to work with our shipping partners on switching to programs that are CO2 neutral or zero emissions. Some of our bigger shipping partners are already optimizing their environmental footprint, however with some others, it will be more of a challenge, and we will need to find ways to offset the CO2 impact.

Demanding a higher standard

We are working only with Oeko-Tex and Bluesign certified suppliers and manufacturers with safe environment and fair wages standards within the EU. In 2021 for the first time, we will add manufacturers for our after-ride pieces from outside of the EU. They are members of Fair Wear Foundation which monitors and helps improve labor conditions in garment factories.
