Superb base layer for most of the year
I have several Isadore merino base layers, most of which are the previous generation with the notch at the front of the neck. They have lasted incredibly well (using wool cycle) and I use them any time apart from hot weather. The new model with elastane has a bit of stretch and feel like they could last even longer. Another great product made worse?
I bought version 1 of this T-Shirt years ago, and it still easily is one of the best Merino products I have ever owned. After years of constant use and washing until today there is not a single hole in both shirts I bought - unlike all other Merino brands. About a year ago I bought version 2 of this shirt, and instantly had the feeling that it was considerably thinner than the previous version. Just as I had bought another two of these shirts some weeks ago, a first hole appeard in my first version 2 T-shirt, whereas the older version 1 ones are still fine. And the latest shirts feel even thinner. Also, the new version now has Elasthan in it, while - if I remember correctly - the old version was 100% Merino wool. I don't see any reason why there needs to be Elasthan in the shirt as Merino wool is naturally elastic. In my opinion the only reason is to have some more stable plastic thread in order to use less wool. All in all I have the feeling that the thickness of the fabric - and for Merino wool that's quality - has considerably worsened. Also, I can't understand other comments about the sizing with statements that size M fits guys with 180cm and with 70 or even 80kg well. I am 173cm and 85Kg; normally, I wear size M in T-Shirts. Alright, for bike brands it's L. But for Isadore it's XL. The version 1 of the T-Shirt at least was very long, so it was clear that it would fit thin and tall guys. But the current version XL looks exactly like everyday brands size M... Having said all this, the look and fit (once I found the correct size) is perfect. pretty perfect
I wore this yesterday on a mixed road/gravel/woods ride, under a short sleeve jersey. I started with arm warmers that soon came off. While the temperature reached 20ºc in the sun it varied greatly depending on shade and speed, open road vs woods. great versatile wool T-shirt
I'm far from an Adonis, but this shirt has all the comfort of a soft T, with that amazing warm/cool you get from great merino. I've worn it for a workout ride as an underlayer, but also just out and about. It will be great as the season warms up, too. It's very breathable but makes for a great base--just the right amount of cling to make you feel more fit than you probably are. As a fan of merino already I admit I’m biased. Just to add my penny or Euro to the mix. Large fits me perfectly. 178cm, 72kg. No race physique- well formed-wry smile. The feel for the grade of merino you utilise. How it fits me. Ideal for my riding ethos be it commuting or day long exploration- it just works. Fantastic shipping - I purchased this base layer on Sunday and received the package in NYC on Tuesday. I purchased a size L (185 cm/ 85 kg) and it fits perfect. I love the fabric as it is really comfortable and soft. This is a versatile base layer that has worked for me so far in the early fall weather as well as in slightly colder temperatures in the morning. The Best Base
OK, I have a complete wardrobe of Isadore kit. I love it all. I have put a reviews on the Signature Short Sleeved Jersey and Long Sleeved Jersey that included the base layer...but really...this needs to be shouted from the highest rooftops...YOU WILL NOT FIND A BETTER BASE LAYER ANYWHERE. "Does better than it says on the tin". Warm in the cold, cool in the heat. Comfortable. I now have several for my 'none cycling wardrobe' because these are stylish too with that collar detail. Do try one size up, but if you get it wrong then I have honestly never had an easier company to deal with. This was underscored when I ordered another base layer on Wednesday and it came on Friday! Base Layer Revelation
Apart from shorts I have never bought cycling specific kit. Too expensive and my size fluctuates too much. But at 55 years old in the UK weather I thought it was about time. WHAT a decision that proved to be. There is enough information on here regarding the technical aspects of this base layer. They are all correct and this base layer delivers in bucket loads. Warm in the cold weather, wicking and cooling in the hot. I am 180cm (6ft) and a slim long limbed physique with some youthful musculature remaining at 55 years old with a <100cm (<40inches). Large fits perfectly. Perfect. Quality superb. Comfy as. Couldn't be happier. Will be buying more stuff to go with this and the LS Jersey (large) I bought with which I was equally happy. Really nice material, quite thin but it seems to suit a wide range of temparatures. I like the design at the neck. I wear size medium in Isadore jerseys and shorts, and bought this baselayer in medium. It was a fairly snug fit, but after the first wash it shrunk slightly, and is now a bit on the tight side, and quite short at the waist. (I followed the washing instructions!) Athletic slim fit
Unboxing Isadore is like opening jewelry box. When trying on the tight fit is paramount for baselayer. This is tight at XXL for 193cm and 78kg with 96cm chest exhaled. XL is also good but I was afraid of possible shrinking after multiple washing and this is baselayer which is washed often, plus the extra cm to cover the back. I have the LONG SLEEVE JERSEY INDIGO BLUE in L (though XL would be very good fit as well) for reference and XL for bibs. If you are going to wear a base-layer it wants to be fabulous. I have the short sleeve merino in black. This is like a second skin, so comfortable you don't feel you have this base-layer on. A really good buy.
I have two of these vests and they wash well, dry quickly, do not shrink or stretch. They are comfortable through a wide temperature range and wick moisture well, they do not become itchy when damp. I have a few Isadore base layers now and I don't wear any other. The merino is soft and supremely comfortable. I always wear a base, even in summer (a vest), and these are excellent for wicking moisture away. They have no odour so you don't need to worry about the cafe stop. Wash them carefully (30 degrees maximum and use delicate cleaning agents) of course, and they stay like new.Afficher l'avis complet -

VERY GOOD PRODUCT, BAD CUT...
I'm very happy with Isadore signature jerseys! Size S fits perfect for me. So I decided to order 2 baselayers size S(one SL and one SS). They were suprisingly too small for me ; I had the impression to wear my child clothes! I exchange both for Medium size as Isadore Return and Exchange works very well. SL baselayer fits perfect but SS one remains too short in M and therefore very uncomfortable. Anyway, I'm happy with the first one. I wear it as often as I can. Nevertheless, I have to admit that I hesitate to order other Isadore articles because of this size/cut issue.Afficher l'avis complet
