I feel proud to put on the national jersey again. I have always enjoyed racing for the national team and now I appreciate it even more. My last race in the national jersey on the road was the Worlds Championships in Leuven which was one of the races I enjoyed most in my career. Putting the jersey on again brings back those memories and I believe it will serve me as an extra boost for the race.

Douwe Doorduin - Netherlands

It was the most beautiful, brutal, epic race of the year. Never experienced anything like it. I am aiming to compete at the elite category next year (this year I raced with the age groups).

I’d rank myself at the bottom of the long list of riders to wear the Netherlands national jersey :°), but I wore the colours with a lot of pride. And to be honest, I’m really proud of what I’ve achieved.
