Materials Guide AW24

From the durable Polartec® Power Shield™ Pro bio-based membrane featured in our Signature Winter Polartec Tights to soft recycled technical fibres found in our Alternative Eco Fleece Jerseys, every material has been selected for purposeful performance and sustainable style. Find out the details of the materials used in this comprehensive guide for AW24.

Signature Merino Tech Long Sleeve Jersey is our most technical merino jersey to date. Made from a Pontetorto® Tecnopile Bio® merino wool blend, the internal 3D structure allows for advanced air circulation between the fabric and the body. It ensures more efficient moisture control whilst maintaining effective thermal regulation. The use of Sensil® Biocare biodegradable polyamide fibers increases strength and abrasion resistance on the outside of the material.

Echelon Aero Long Sleeve Jersey is a compression jersey made of two stretch materials with a high recycled content. Side panels are made of lightweight, high-density perforated fabric for increased breathability in the underarm area and under the pockets. The jersey is treated with HeiQ® Fresh and Smart Temp® technology and wide silicone gripper to keep the jersey in place even at high speeds.

Signature Winter Polartec Tights are made of 100% polyester knit with Polartec® Power Shield™ Pro bio-based membrane. The fabric offers excellent elasticity in all four directions while maintaining water resistance of more than 20,000 mm and high breathability. Internal mesh structure of the fabric provides better moisture wicking while maintaining thermal comfort. Complete with a with increased abrasion resistance and extra brushing for maximum comfort in sensitive zones.

Winter Bibs & Tights are upgraded through our entire range across all collections with pre-shaped ergonomic Elastic Interface® pads made from Schoeller® material. Several construction upgrades and a Fluorine-free DWR treatment increases the material's ability to repel water and dirt, making your go-to choices even more durable for seasons to come.

Our New Debut Winter Jacket is a versatile softshell jacket that blends comfort, performance, and value. The breathable external material with a minimalist design is enhanced by a Fluorine-free DWR treatment to protect from wind and drizzle. The inner material produced from a merino wool blend provides additional comfort and continually regulates body temp.

Our updated Debut Long Sleeve Jerseys with medium compression have a brushed insulated inner for greater thermal comfort. The knitted outer has been treated with a Fluorine-free DWR treatment to increase abrasion resistance and repel water and dirt.

Our updated Debut Wind Jacket & Vest provide lightweight wind resistance from high density recycled fabric which provide increased breathability over membrane based materials. Both garments are finished with a Fluorine-free DWR treatment to increase abrasion resistance and repel water and dirt.

Signature Wind Block jersey made from the finest merino wool with a fibre thickness nearly six times finer than human hair. The jersey provides exceptional thermoregulating properties plus odor and moisture control. Merino fibers are also hydrophobic, and therefore provide an effective pathway to move moisture away from the body. The added membrane on the chest, shoulders and sleeves provide additional wind protection.

Signature Deep Winter Jersey was the first piece in our range made from the revolutionary Polartec® Power Stretch® Pro™material. Polyamide fibers have a smooth surface which reduce the ability of dirt to adhere to the garment surface. Compared to polyester, polyamides are also more resistant to abrasion and garment deformation.

Signature Winter Hardshell Jacket with four-way stretch is made from breathable Pertex® Shield with a 3L triple-layer membrane having a water column of 20,000 mm and fully taped seams. “Pertex Shield 3L comprises of three materials laminated together with the second layer comprising of a polyurethane membrane. The outer materials are tightly woven, providing high strength at low weight, wind resistance and a long life.” To keep your membrane jacket in good condition and to maintain its water resistance, don’t forget to take good care of it as well.

Signature Deep Winter softshell jacket is made of a three-layer membrane material with increased elasticity in four directions. “The softshell combines the properties of both a top layer and a thermal insulation layer. A softshell jacket is a great choice for colder and dryer winters where thermal insulation and regulation are key.” Marcela (Head of Product Development). The outer layer of polyamide fibers gives the fabric a higher abrasion resistance. The inner layer of polyester with a 3D grid structure increases air circulation and quickdry Frame® moisture control technology also aids in keeping the internal environment from ‘sweating out’.

Alternative Eco-Fleece is the warmest garment in the Alternative collection. “Made from soft recycled technical material, our fleece is characterized by a high proportion of elastane, so it naturally conforms to the body. The smooth outer layer enables layering of the fleece with additional protection against the elements.” Marcela (Head of Product Development). The inner knitted fabric is made of Tencel™ fibers, which are of plant origin. These are extracted from the raw material of eucalyptus wood. A closed-cycle is used to produce these fibers, which dramatically reduces water consumption and chemical waste.

Alternative Insulated jackets and vests made from recycled materials designed for rides in Autumn, Spring and to be layered in Winter. The front, shoulders and top of the jacket sleeves are made of functional Pertex® Quantum Air material, with a Polartec® Alpha® Direct insulation layer underneath. “Pertex® Quantum Air is exceptionally tightly woven and protects from the wind whilst maintaining breathability. And that’s why we chose to combine it with Polartec Alpha, as this insulation layer is also exceptionally breathable allowing for moisture control.” Marcela (Head of Product Development)

Winter base layer was created by combining the first and second layers which replaces the jersey when layering underneath a jacket like the Signature Softshell. Brushed interior is pleasant to the touch and forms an effective layer of insulation. The material offers more insulation in exposed zones by trapping more air in its mesh structure. The lightweight brushed knit in the underarm and back area dries quickly and is extremely breathable. “We were also able to use recycled material from another production, enabling us to further reduce our environmental impact” Marcela (Head of Product Development).

Winter gloves with Polartec® Alpha® Direct protective layer for temperatures of approx. zero degrees. The gloves use a military grade insulating layer that offers consistent thermal comfort and high breathability at very low weight and thickness. “This feature is especially important in gloves, as users retain sensitivity in their fingers and high mobility even in freezing conditions,” Marcela (Head of Product Development).
