  Alternative bib shorts

  These bib shorts are my first pair from Isadore and I’m very pleased with them so far. I wear a medium in other brands and compared their sizing chart to Isadore. I concluded that the medium might be a bit slack and so ordered a small and a medium to be on the safe side. I tried the medium on first and the fit is very snug, at first I was convinced that they wouldn’t fit me at all as the fabric is very stretchy, more like swimming gear than cycling and different to my usual brand. Once on the fit is good, very compressive, very racy but very comfortable, the small size remained in the bag. For reference I am 65 years old, 5’10”, 10 st, 10 lbs, 30” waist and ride road and gravel bikes.

  Light and comfy

  Very happy with my latest purchase from Isadore. Chamois offers comfort for longer rides and this Alternative bib short is lighter and more breathable (I find) than the Echelon Aero bib. It is just a tad tight (Size L, I'm 1,83m 77kg), but nevertheless very comfortable. Top product I would highly recommend!

  Comfortable, Well-Fitted, and Thoughtfully Designed

  The fit is excellent. There’s a noticeable level of compression, but it never feels too tight — overall, it’s very comfortable. Despite being relatively lightweight, the fabric feels durable and well-constructed, and the chamois has a high-density feel that provides solid support. The white shoulder straps are thin and subtle, which makes them less visible under a jersey — a nice touch. One thing to note is that the Sea Storm color appears lighter in person than it does in the photos. Overall, I’m very happy with the quality and performance.

  I’m extremely satisfied with the bibs. At first I ordered size M according to the fit guide, but I couldn’t even pull them over my knees. Size L fit me in the end, though it was still a struggle. I guess I’m not used to that level of compression, but after the first ride I don’t want anything else. They’re truly excellent—the only thing they’re missing for me is a pocket.

  Isadore Alternative bib short 10/10

  I own two pairs of the Isadore Alternative Bib Shorts—one in size Medium and another in size Large. At 188 cm tall and weighing 79 kg, I find that both sizes fit me well, but with some notable differences. The Medium offers a more compressive fit and definitely takes a bit of effort to put on. That said, once they’re on, they feel incredibly comfortable and supportive. The Large is easier to get into and slightly more relaxed, especially around the thighs, which might be a better option for riders with more muscular upper legs. In terms of performance and quality, these bibs are outstanding. The chamois is extremely comfortable even on longer rides, and the overall construction and materials are top-notch. Highly recommended for anyone looking for high-performance, eco-conscious bib shorts. Just consider your fit preferences when choosing a size. For me, it's a solid 10/10.

  compressive and comfortable

  I bought these just before my holiday and they arrived in time to be packed and I am glad I did. I immediatly threw them in the deep end using them on the longest ride of of my holiday. A ride along the Basque coast from France to Spain including climbing the Jaizkibel. The shorts held up really wel, comfortable, stayed perfectly in place and I feel like the compression helped my legs. A word on sizing. I have bought a medium. I am 1.83 m, my wheight hovers between 76,5 and 80 kg. The shorts reach to my knee and are quite compressive, which I like and is as it should be for speed/racing orientated bibs, but keep that in mind when you make your purchasing decision.

  The Bob is really nice and the purple color is super. But for a short sprinter like me the bib is long and thight. Needed a smalller size then i normale have.

  Great Quality, very tight and long

  Got the bibs to complete the alternative kit. The quality of material feels great, and chamois is comfortable. I did not expect the bib shorts to be so long or so tight. By the size chart I should have gotten a XS, but I opted for a S as I do with many other brands (I have fairly large/muscular quadraceps and glutes). Bibs come down just above my knee cap (175cm tall and 65kg & 73.6cm inseam), and very tight around my body. I personally love a bib with shorter legs (like rapha core or Maap team bib), but maybe this is a Euro style...? Anyway, very pleased with the style and quality, and I have my own preferences on bib fittings, but still a great bib short. Should I have gone with a XS?

  Comfortable, but maybe too tight

  Quality is great like always, but bottom straps around legs are maybe too tight to me. I am 182cm ~75kg and my hips are ~99cm so based on size table I should take M (like tights which I have), but its very hard to take it over legs, because leg straps are tight even over my calves and I am not such a muscled sprinter :-) Maybe it will fix after few rides

  Feels very good, looks good, but I had quality issues

  Looks indeed amazing, style, good materials, very soft, and runs bigger than usual. I have older version size L, I am 188cm and 90kg, and M fitted perfectly. Also straps are very good, and even cycling in +35C I survived. Now, unfortunately I had 2 linings opened after one sensitive washing, so I had to send it back for repair, took a few weeks as they did not have the same model/size to replace, and so far I was also not even offered a discount. The customer service did not even bother to check my original order for the delivery address, and has asked me twice, so I am quite disappointed, given the price of the goods, you expect premium service when buying such quality/price of cycling equipment. For the sustainability definitely I will keep buying from Isadore, as it is the only affordable on this category, if you compare to MAAP or PSN, that is out of regular people's league.

  Great fitting shorts with a very comfortable pad

  Really pleased with the fit, feel and colour of these shorts (178cm, 76kg, size medium). The pad is extremely comfortable without being bulky and causes me no soreness even after 6 or 7 hour rides, whilst the lycra is soft and fits snugly without feeling over-tight or compressive. My personal preference is for a high bib front, and the Alternative Bibs provide that, but the soft material means it's still easy to pull down for comfort breaks. Highly recommended.

  At 185cm 90kg the size guide said XL, and my other Isadore bibs fit well as XL, but these feel way too big and I should have picked L. The padding is good, but for me it feels like in a slightly wrong position. Sadly I only realized after riding with them.

  Wow! These bibs are a revelation

  I've been buying Isadore apparel for years now and I'm a loyal customer. Design, quality, price point are top notch. I bought bib shorts from Isadore before and haven't been disappointed. I bought the previous model of these shorts and loved the fit. But this season's version are amazing. The biggest change is the level of compression due to the new material choice. The first time I tried them on I was a bit nervous as they're a tight fit but now after a few wears they slip right now and feel amazing when I ride. I love Isadore for their bold color choices and these are are no exception. Now all I want to wear are high compression shorts when I ride. I'm 5' 11" (180 cm) and wear a Large.

  They’re tight…..

  Wow……silky smooth, feel great and using the fit guide I was a medium, but getting them on is quite a challenge. I wouldn’t say I have large thighs, but these shorts are barely wide enough to get over my knees….then the fun begins. A good few minutes of nipping the material between my fingers before ‘gently’ feeding them up little by little until they’re somewhere near fitting. On with the braces, then a few more finer adjustments and they’re on. In hindsight I should maybe have gone for a large, but what I will say is they are very comfortable when you eventually get them on. Only worn them twice so I’m hoping they’ll maybe give a little over time.

  Love the new colours. Sizing seems to be a little bit on the smaller side (not as forgiving on the thighs) compared to the previous release but all in all, quality bib with such a soft feel.

  Tha tailoring and the material quality is professional. Unfortunatelly the sizeing is tricky I am 177cm and 68kg with muscular lower body. The size S is definitly small, i sended it back.. The size M is perfect. Has a really competitive look. I love it!

  These bib shorts are simply excellent all around. They are stylish and fit perfectly. I think they are ideal for Spring/Summer, but I've worn them already during our relatively mild late California Fall and they are fine. The cashew color is unique and versatile. I'm 173cm & 69kg and I ordered them in size S--perfect fit!

  Best summer bibs

  I have the earlier version Alternative bibs in black, which are my go-to summer bib. This newer version is slightly better. The recycled chamois pad is the same as the older version and will quite happily do 100 mile+ rides - what more do you want? The new version has better straps, with a less stretchy tape used to support the bib which should presumably reduce sagging. The construction of the leg hem seems to be different - instead of a gripper "band" which is almost like a cuff, they seem to have put a gripper "print" over a wider area. You can roll up the edges up, sort of like a laser-cut sleeve on a jersey. However, they do stay in place so this is different, not worse. As with most pale bib shorts, the "Cashew" version is slightly see-through, though not quite obscene. 187cm 75kg size L.

  On my second pair of the Alternative Bib Shorts because I love my first pair so much. Really comfortable pad for long distances. My original pair are still almost as good as new after two years of riding and I don't doubt these will prove as durable too. The new design is maybe not quite as compressive as my older pair but I think Isadore have altered their sizing slightly and I should have sized down. 179cm and 67kg and medium is fine but will go with small next time which is what the fit guide suggests.

  The bib shorts are superbly made. The fabric is really thin and feels soft, the overall quality seems to be very good. I could not wear them on bike, since they are a bit too big for my flat bum. Gip measurement! Even following the size table was not as successful for me as I had wished. But this could be a particular issue regarding individual shape. All in all if the size is right, these bib shorts are great.

  Very comfy, high quality bibs!

  I've been now riding 200+ km in these bibs and they are very comfortable. Clearly designed for warmer weather and they breath well, for below 10 degrees (Celsius) I would recommend something warmer. Size seems to be on point. Also I like the colors. Can totally recommend these!

  Simply the best bib shorts for me!

  The fit is extraordinary. Chamois is just perfect for my body. The recycled materials are just perfect, you can't find any difference from non-recylcled. Long riding just became a pure joy for me, thanks to Isadore!

  my second bibs from Isadore, own already one for colder weather. the chamois are amazingly comfortable, i've been using some Nalini professional in the past, and these one can compete and beat. great for long rides, climbing, hot days. 193 cm and 88 kg, XL fit best. Excellent crafting, high-end product.

  This is the third pair of Isadore shorts I have purchased and they are the best so far. Beautifully made, super comfortable and really stylish. The pad is one the best I have experienced. The added bonus of these shorts is the eco credentials. Good work Isadore

  Exceptional. Being more sensitive to saddle and bib shorts issues, I am totally convinced, that these are the best bib shorts I have ever owned. They are light, breathable and the most important, the pad is spot on. My first ride was about 100 km long, I could easily find my optimal position and did not experience chafing or whatsoever. I am happy with them and wait for the size S being back in stock.

  Super bib and beautiful too. For reference, I'm 194cm tall, 86kg, 34 in jeans. I tried XL and L. At first I thought XL is right, but the material is soft and stretchy that I ended up with L, which is great. For comparison I have got CASTELLI FREE AERO Bibs in XL and the Fabric and Seat pad on Isadore Alternative bib is softer. I usually ride for 2h and overall Isadore Alternative bib feels more comfortable on bike. I would buy again. This is my third bib from Isadore and I will order one more soon.

  Sehr gute Hose aus angenehmem Material. Trägergurte und Schnitt sind echt luftig für Sommerfahrten, Oberkörper fühlt sich frei an. Polster auch sehr gut, obwohl ich etwas Bedenken hatte, weil es sich recht dünn anfühlt. Lediglich die Beinlänge ist für meinen Geschmack etwas zu lang. Kaufempfehlung. 181 cm, 74 KG - Größe M passt prima.

  The pants themselves are really great, they fit very well and the padding is great. However, I have big problems with the seams, as they scratch a lot and even scraped the skin after longer rides. The problem occurs primarily at the point where the front thigh meets the hip (both sides), since the seam is constantly moving here while driving. I have the same problem with the alternative 3/4 bib shorts. I now help myself by treating the seams with chamois cream the day before a longer ride.

  Absolutely great bib shorts! I love the pad, the length and the size. I am 1.88m, 76kg and a waist of 87cm. I ordered an L, it sits race tight, but very comfortable. I got long legs and this bib has the right length for my legs. I also have a Signature bib short form Isadore, but I prefer this bib short over the Signature bib.

  Comfy warm weather bibs with too short legs

  I really like the product except for the legs being too short for my liking. It'd be better if the cut would allow the legs to be 3-5cm longer as with other "comparable" brands. Thin matieral that sits nicely.
